The development of solid-state batteries represents a key area of breakthrough in the new energy sector, and the purity of the solvent directly determines the performance of the electrolyte and the safety of the battery. In the development of solid-state batteries, the issue of solvent impurities has long been a major challenge: Moisture and acidic impurities in traditional electrolyte solvents reduce ionic conductivity and compromise interfacial stability, leading to a decline in battery safety and lifespan. Consequently, the development of many high-safety, long-life solid-state batteries has been hindered by solvent-related issues, creating a critical bottleneck that constrains research breakthroughs.

To address this challenge, the research institute has introduced a solvent purification system from Beijing Yifeng Technology Co., Ltd. Designed for electrolyte solvents such as carbonates and ethers, the system features an optimised process for removing water and acidic impurities, capable of thoroughly eliminating contaminants to ensure the solvent purity meets the stringent requirements of solid-state battery research. Utilising high-precision adsorption technology, it accurately removes trace amounts of water and acidic impurities whilst enabling automated liquid supply, significantly enhancing experimental efficiency and providing stable support for solid-state battery development.

The commissioning of the Yifeng Solvent Purification System has opened up new avenues for the institute’s solid-state battery research and development. The purified solvents have significantly improved the ionic conductivity of the electrolytes, substantially reduced interfacial impedance, and broadened the electrochemical window of the batteries, thereby enhancing both safety and lifespan.
