The preparation of materials for light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) forms a crucial foundation in the field of optoelectronic displays, and the purity of the solvent directly determines the purity of the emissive layer and the efficiency of the device. In the research and development of LED and OLED materials, the issue of solvent impurities has long been a persistent challenge: fluorescence-quenching impurities in conventional solvents reduce the luminous efficiency of materials and shorten device lifespan. Consequently, the development of many novel optoelectronic display materials has been hindered by solvent-related issues, creating a bottleneck that constrains the translation of research findings into practical applications.
To address this challenge, the School has introduced a solvent purification system from Beijing Yifeng Technology Co., Ltd. This system is designed for solvents commonly used in the preparation of LED and OLED materials, such as toluene and chloroform. It optimises the process for removing fluorescence-quenching impurities, enabling the thorough removal of impurities from the solvents and ensuring that their purity meets the stringent requirements of material preparation. The system features a fully sealed design, preventing the ingress of airborne impurities, whilst also enabling automated continuous liquid supply, which significantly enhances preparation efficiency and ensures stable material performance.
Since its introduction, the Yifeng Solvent Purification System has become the ‘unseen guardian’ of optoelectronic display materials research and development. The purified solvents have significantly improved the purity of the emissive layers, substantially optimised the luminous efficiency of the materials, and extended device lifespan by over 50% compared to previous methods, whilst completely resolving performance issues previously caused by fluorescence-quenching impurities. Researchers have been able to focus on optimising material structures and developing new luminescent materials, successfully producing a range of high-performance LED and OLED materials, thereby providing vital support for the development of the optoelectronic display industry. Yifeng Technology empowers optoelectronic research and development through technology, delivering clearer picture quality and longer lifespan for optoelectronic displays, and helping universities remain at the forefront of exploration in the field of optoelectronic materials.
