The construction of ordered structures lies at the heart of research into colloid and interface chemistry, and the purity of the solvent directly determines the stability and uniformity of these structures. In studies on the construction of ordered structures such as micelles, microemulsions and liposomes, researchers have long been hampered by impurities in the solvent: Surfactant impurities in conventional solvents interfere with interfacial tension and assembly behaviour, resulting in poor stability and insufficient uniformity of ordered structures. Many applied research projects, such as drug delivery and interfacial catalysis, have struggled to progress due to solvent-related issues, becoming a major bottleneck hindering research breakthroughs.
To address this challenge, the laboratory has introduced a solvent purification system from Beijing Yifeng Technology Co., Ltd. This system is designed for solvents commonly used in the construction of ordered structures, such as chloroform, n-hexane and water. It features an optimised process for removing surface-active impurities, capable of thoroughly eliminating contaminants from the solvent to ensure stable and reliable purity, thereby providing a solid foundation for the precise assembly of ordered structures. Operating in an automated mode, the system can adjust purification parameters in real time to accommodate the construction requirements of different types of ordered structures, whilst also enabling the recycling of solvents, thereby reducing experimental costs.
