In the world of polymer synthesis, the orderly growth of every molecular chain relies on a pure solvent environment. In the research and development of high-performance polymer materials, numerous challenges arising from solvent impurities have long been encountered: Traditional solvent purification methods struggle to completely remove water, peroxides and metal ions from solvents. These trace impurities can trigger side reactions such as chain transfer and cross-linking, resulting in uneven molecular weight distribution and irregular polymer structures. This, in turn, affects the material’s optoelectronic and mechanical properties, causing many promising polymer material R&D projects to hit a bottleneck and becoming a critical bottleneck hindering research breakthroughs.
To overcome this challenge, the laboratory has introduced a solvent purification system from Beijing Yifeng Technology Co., Ltd. Leveraging the synergistic effects of multi-stage filtration and activated adsorption, this system is capable of thoroughly removing various impurities from solvents. Whether it be water and peroxides—which readily trigger side reactions—or metal ions that affect molecular chain growth, all can be efficiently eliminated, ensuring that solvent purity remains consistently stable. The system is compatible with a variety of precision reactions, including anionic polymerisation and controlled radical polymerisation. Purification parameters can be adjusted in real time according to experimental requirements, providing customised solvent solutions for different types of polymer synthesis.
