The research and development of flexible electronics and organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) represents a key area of development in the electronics sector, and the purity of solvents directly determines the quality of organic semiconductor film deposition. Research into flexible electronics and OFETs has long been hampered by solvent impurities: moisture and particulate impurities in conventional solvents affect the uniformity and crystallinity of organic semiconductor films, leading to reduced device mobility and stability. As a result, the development of many flexible electronic devices has been stalled by solvent-related issues, creating a bottleneck that hinders research breakthroughs.To address this challenge, the School has introduced a solvent purification system from Beijing Yifeng Technology Co., Ltd. This system is specifically designed for solvents commonly used in the preparation of organic semiconductor films, such as chlorobenzene and xylene. It optimises the removal process for water and particulate impurities, enabling the thorough elimination of contaminants from the solvent and ensuring that the solvent purity meets the requirements for film formation. Utilising ultra-clean filtration technology, the system removes minute particulate impurities whilst enabling automated liquid supply. This significantly enhances film deposition efficiency, eliminates contamination caused by manual handling, and ensures the consistent quality of organic semiconductor films.
Since its commissioning, the Yifeng Solvent Purification System has become a core pillar of flexible electronics R&D. The purified solvents have significantly improved the uniformity and crystallinity of organic semiconductor films, whilst substantially optimising device mobility and stability. Issues such as film formation defects previously caused by impurities have been completely resolved. Researchers have been able to focus on the structural optimisation and performance enhancement of flexible electronic devices, successfully developing a range of high-performance flexible electronic devices, thereby providing vital support for the miniaturisation and flexibilisation of the electronics sector. With its professional expertise, Yifeng Technology is driving continuous breakthroughs in the exploration of flexible electronics, making the future of flexible electronics even more imaginative.
