In the field of bio-organic synthesis, the creation of every bioactive molecule relies on the gentle care provided by pure solvents. Research in bio-organic synthesis has long been plagued by the issue of solvent impurities: traditional solvent purification methods are prone to causing solvent decomposition or secondary contamination, whilst trace impurities can lead to enzyme inactivation, reduce the chiral purity of products, and adversely affect the synthesis efficiency and quality of bioactive molecules such as nucleoside drugs and peptide intermediates, thereby becoming a bottleneck hindering the translation of research findings into practical applications.To address this challenge, the School has introduced a solvent purification system from Beijing Yifeng Technology Co., Ltd. This system employs a gentle purification process, avoiding the damage to solvents caused by high temperatures and pressures in traditional methods. It effectively prevents solvent decomposition and secondary contamination, and is precisely tailored to meet the purification requirements of biocompatible solvents such as methanol, ethanol and acetonitrile. Through multi-stage adsorption and filtration, the system thoroughly removes enzyme-inhibiting impurities from the solvents, ensuring their purity meets the stringent requirements of bio-organic synthesis and providing a reliable foundation for the efficient conduct of enzymatic reactions.
The commissioning of the Yifeng solvent purification system has injected new momentum into the Institute’s bio-organic synthesis research. The purified solvents enable more efficient enzymatic reactions, allowing enzymes to exert their full activity, whilst significantly improving the purity and yield of products. Synthesis challenges previously caused by solvent impurities have been successfully resolved. Researchers are now able to focus on the structural optimisation of bioactive molecules and the refinement of synthetic routes, successfully synthesising a variety of high-purity nucleoside drugs and peptide intermediates, thereby providing vital support for the development of the biopharmaceutical sector. Research pathways once obstructed by impurities have become unimpeded under the empowerment of the Yifeng system, allowing for deeper and more meaningful exploration in the life sciences. This also demonstrates Yifeng Technology’s commitment and responsibility to supporting biomedical innovation through technology.
